This nearly one year old, Rural Hall, North Carolina dog park is lovely to behold. Supplied with a good sized water station and split into large and small dog areas, this park has lots to make pet and their companions happy. Thanks to our wonderful visitors, 6 great photographs have been submitted to represent this park. Maybe these great visitors will sign up here at Dog Park USA, and we can give them proper credit for these fun park pictures, and they can start a group for their park as well.

This dog park is located in Iowa City, IA. It has 11 fenced acres with three separate areas, making it one of the largest fenced dog parks. One fenced area has a pond for the dogs to swim, another is for small dogs, and another area is an agility course that can be rented for events. The city runs this park and charges a $25 annual fee or one can get a day permit for $5. It looks like the dogs love this park.

This dog park was built back in 2005 in Norman, Oklahoma. The Norman Community Dog Park (a non-profit group) helps run this park, along with the city. They have a great website with pictures of dog park events and work days at the park. Volunteers help keep up the park through the seasons and they always enjoy a yearly birthday celebration for the park.
Hamden Dog Park is located in Connecticut and has some beautiful trees in the fall. And the winter leaves the park blanketed in snow. Hamden Responsible Dog Owners' Group (R-DOG) supports this park and helped raise the $30000 need to build the park. This group is now supporting the building of a local animal shelter.

Pawsitive Dog Park is also known as the Estelle Cohn Memorial Dog Park opened in 2005. It is located in Norwich, CT. This dog park was started with a $10000 gift from Al Cohn in memory of his wife for fencing and from other generous donations. The dog park committee has played a large role in beginning and maintaining the park. This dog park has many great features like drinking water, wading pools, grass, and trees. The dog park committee is still trying to raise money to finish paying for the rest of the fencing which was $22000 total and begin other dog parks.

This dog park was built in 2005 at a park where dogs had been congregating with their owners for some time. The Seger Park Dog Owners Association (SPDOA) runs this park but the land is owned by the city; it is a great way the community is involved in taking care of and creating public space. The non-profit also maintains a website with helpful links to the dog community, like the local dog shelter. They also have some great pictures of this park being built.
This is a nice city park with new artificial turf and crushed gravel surfaces. There was parking nearby and not very many dogs for a sunny Saturday afternoon. It was a nice change to some of the over crowded dog parks in the rest of the city. The ten dogs we met seemed friendly. The park has doggy drinking fountain, benches, shade and trees, doubled gated entry, kiosk/message board, and handicap accessibility. I am not sure when this park was redone but it seems to have been in the last year and there should not be a mud problem even after rain with the new turf and gravel.

This is a great dog beach with water access. The dogs are allowed off leash. The dog park also has a separate small dog area. There are water spigots for the dogs to get a drink as well as hoses for washing the sand off the dog before leaving. The park is managed by Pinellas County in the Tampa area of Florida.

The Boneyard dog park is located in southern California. It is located on a hill and has a view of the beach which is about 3 miles away as well as beautiful sunsets. The dog park is covered in crushed granite. It has trees, benches, a kiosk, and water fountains. There is also a large separate gated area for small dogs. Check out the photo gallery of this park.
This is one of the very few fenced dog parks in Santa Cruz County. It is a large park with some great dogs that come regularly. The ground is covered in mulch, which helps cut down on mud in the winter. There are benches, chairs, portable restrooms, and shade canopies for the people. On the way up to the park from the freeway there is a coffee shop (Surf City Coffee Shop) that has a fenced patio for the dogs. This is a really great place to visit and take your dog.
The Cheyenne Animal Shelter runs the dog park. The park was opened back in 2003 and has many great features. It has a separate area for small dogs and elderly dogs to share. And for the people this dog park has benches and a shade structure. The dog park is very near the animal shelter and says this is a "fun place for your dog to romp and play." The shelter was kind enough to provide pictures and information about this their dog park, which is open to the public.
This is one of the best dog parks in Santa Clara County. It was built in 2006 and has nice well kept grassy hills, bench seating with shade, and a track around the dog park. It has one of the busiest small dog parks in the area. The large dogs have plenty of room to run. Evenings are a prime time for this park as most of the owner's work all day and the dogs are ready to play around dinner time.
Kaufman dog park just opened this month on October 12th. Teresa, a dog owner, was instrumental at getting this park established; she had been to the nearest dog park 45 minutes away before this one opened. She and others worked with others and the city council, parks superintendent Jeff Gibson, and mayor to get space at Kennedy Park in Marion, Ohio. This park was created by generous donors of the community. According to the local newspaper, the Marion Star, Marty Kaufman donate $20,000 and other members of the community donated loose change through a collection box at Perkin's diner. The city of Marion is still accepting donations for further projects at the park suck as drinking fountains and more sidewalks.

This park is the first dog park that was fully contributed by members of this site. Check out the great fun and all the pictures submitted by pami1944, prairie pasture and davidotto.
